This delicious and easy-to-make sauce is perfect for marinating, basting, or dipping your favorite grilled meats, vegetables, and more. Made with simple and common pantry ingredients, this recipe is a great way to add some homemade flavor to your next barbecue.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp molasses
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Stir well to combine.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until it thickens and the flavors meld together.
  4. Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  5. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  6. Once cooled, you can store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
  7. Enjoy your homemade barbecue sauce on your next BBQ!

Tips:

  • You can add more or less cayenne pepper to adjust the spiciness level of the sauce.
  • You can use honey instead of molasses for a sweeter taste.
  • You can add some diced onion or minced garlic to the sauce for added flavor.

Enjoy your homemade barbecue sauce!
